Discussion on Financial Innovation: Agree Technology Collaborates with the Industry to Explore Innovations in Audio and Video Financial Applications

On September 19, to implement the People’s Bank of China’s ‘Financial Technology Development Plan (2022-2025)’ regarding the goal of ‘building a digital and green service system’ and to better promote the innovative practice of audio and video financial applications, the Audio and Video Financial Application Working Group of the Beijing Financial Technology Industry Alliance organised member units to discuss remote banking and audio-video application technologies further, enhancing the overall service capabilities of the financial industry.

Agree Technology was invited to participate in this discussion as a member of the Beijing Financial Technology Industry Alliance and a leading enterprise in the remote banking market. Mr. Jin Lei, Deputy General Manager of the Channel Business Department of Agree Technology, represented the company and shared the innovative practices of Agree Technology in counter scenarios with the attendees, receiving unanimous recognition from the guests.

In fact, as one of the earliest builders and innovators in the domestic banking counter sector, Agree Technology has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the banking channel counter field. As early as 2017, Agree Technology proposed the ‘Remote Banking’ concept and introduced the ‘Remote Banking Solution’ to meet the rapid development needs of banking services. This innovative service model aimed at the financial industry separates the ‘interaction’ and ‘settlement’ processes in banking services, breaking the limitations of traditional offline bank branches. The solution innovatively relies on audio and video communication technology to remote conventional banking services, reconstructing the financial agency service model and achieving ‘remote service with a counter-like experience.’ Customers can communicate ‘face-to-face’ with remote tellers through fixed devices at the branch, personal mobile phones, and other mobile devices. Customers articulate their business needs, and remote tellers handle the relevant transactions; the physical delivery (receiving and payment) is completed during the transaction process through machines and delivery stations. Notably, the remote banking solution from Agree Technology has received numerous honours, such as winning the Excellent Solution Award at the 2022 event organised by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Fifth Research Institute (China Saibao), which selected full-stack typical solutions in important industry fields nationwide, where Agree Technology’s remote banking system stood out among thousands of solutions; it also won first prize and popularity award in the Tencent Cloud’s ‘Best Case’ selection process.

The innovative service model of remote banking achieves a seamless connection between financial services and user scenarios, providing a new direction for the transformation and development of bank branches. Remote services break the limitation that customers must receive banking services at a branch, allowing tellers to move from the front to the back office. Through centralised management, financial services can be streamlined, standardised, and regulated, effectively avoiding uneven workloads at offline branches and improving the overall operational efficiency of banks.

Based on Agree Technology’s profound insights into banking operations and its ongoing exploration in the remote banking field, in 2023, Agree Technology officially launched the ‘Cloud Bank’ solution in collaboration with Tencent Cloud. The ‘Cloud Bank’ deeply integrates Tencent Cloud’s real-time audio and video TRTC, distributed database TDSQL, and intelligent digital personnel capabilities, enabling customers to call remote and digital tellers through branch devices, mobile phones, and tablets. By leveraging video communications and remote business interactions, it provides a counter-like service experience, creating an innovative service model for bank branches and assisting in their digital transformation and upgrade. Over the past year, several urban commercial banks and rural commercial banks have implemented this solution.

In the future, Agree Technology will continue to maintain close ties with the Beijing Financial Technology Industry Alliance and its member units to promote the innovative practice of audio and video financial applications. At the same time, Agree Technology will keep a close eye on the latest developments in financial technology, continuously optimising and improving various high-quality industry solutions, including the remote banking solution, to provide more substantial support for the digital transformation and upgrade of bank branches.
